Paul Hunter R.I.P.
I was terribly upset to hear of the tragic
death of Paul Hunter last week.
A great player and a great guy he will be sadly missed by everyone involved
in snooker
especially the players.
He won three Masters titles plus three other
ranking events.
He was in his prime with a great career ahead of him.
Off the table he was not long married to Lynsey
and
only last January became a father to Evie Rose.
One can only imagine how devastated his wife, parents and family are.
I hope it is some small consolation to them
to know how popular he was
and how badly missed he will be.
A new scholarship, named after Paul, will
be awarded annually to a gifted young player
and is considered a most fitting tribute to the popular Yorkshireman.
